OK, so we always have these cheery posts about wonderful things that have happened in our stores. However, what I would like to know is...
Does anyone else's store completely suck?
Do any other stores have crew members who consistantly show up late to work- like an hour or two late?
Do meetings frequently take at least 2 hours because it takes that long to go through the list of bad things that need to (but never will) be corrected?
Do the closers do such a bad job that it take most of the morning to correct last night's close?
Is something in the store always breaking, springing a leak, or growing mold because the owner doesn't fix things?
Does any other store run out of essential items, like sweet cream mix and strawberries, on a regular basis due to the manager not placing orders or even showing up to over half of his shifts?
Do any other stores fail more of their inspections than they pass? Better yet, have any other stores only passed one inspection in over 2 years?

what stores have been mystery shopped for the x-factor because on the site it says theat today is the last day and my store hasn't been shopped yet. or maybe we just haven't found out. usually we get shopped and we find out the next day.
and.... whats with the quiz wheel thing, i looked at the winners so far and like 70% of them were from the same store.. how does that happen? it just dosen't seem right or fair.

So i work at the livonia michgian store. Today i was pulling i/c from the blast to the walk in. Well the pan kinda slipped, and it hit the top of my knuckle. I felt it cut it, but i just figured that i just got a little slice like everytime before.
I walk out of the freezer, and i glance down at my hand, and it's covered in blood.
I end up going to the E.R. and getting 3 stiches on my finger. Fun right? :[
Anyone else ever get cut from these pans?....i'm writting a letter to the creamery, telling them that the pans are unsafe :] j/k

So I was thinking about how my last day is soon (a little later now) and I just have to say that working at Coldstone pretty much sucks. It's the people that make it worthwile.

I had a rather humiliating day.
So first of all, I parked in the “Reserved for Papa Murphy’s Customers Only” spot outside the front of Cold Stone (we have a PM's right next door). I didn’t think a whole lot about it, until later when Mr. Papa Murphy or whoever came into the store and wanted to talk to our manager, who is about 19 or 20. I heard him say something about a car parked in the wrong spot, and then, it clicked in my brain. Oh great. So I went up and apologized profusily and moved the car. I was HIGHLY embarrassed. Our manager thought it was amusing, and he asked me later on, “So Kelly, where did you park now?” Not funny. The whole experience made me feel like the dumbest person on earth.
Later on, I realized that the front part of the store smelled gross- which was because of the ceiling vent being coated in dust. So, I decided to clean it with one of those fan-dust-brushes. I realized that we had 2 customers, but I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal if I carefully dusted, making sure nothing fell into the ice cream. So, I was almost done, when Mr. Manager came out from the backroom, saw me, and said something like, “Kelly, what are you doing? Come here!” He gave me some lecture about how “things like that should be done after closing, not while there are customers in the store! It doesn’t look good! What if it fell in the ice cream… blah blah blah.” Now I felt REALLLLLLY stupid- like a real immature idiot who wouldn’t do anything right to save my life. I felt like all the other employees were looking at me and thinking, “wow, what a fool”. It was very embarrassing then, and I still feel ridiculous, nearly 5 hours later. I wish I could give everyone in the store temporary amnesia, so they could just forget what happened and life could move on. The stupid thing is, I’m sure most people DID forget pretty quickly, and here I am, still worrying about it. I’m scared that the customers were the Secret Shoppers or something, and our store will have just failed on my account. Or perhaps they’ll be so grossed out that they’ll call the Cold Stone complaint line and “turn me in”. That’ll be the end of my job; plus, it’s humiliating. I hate trying to do the right thing, then messing it all up. I've worked there since it opened and I'm an assistant manager/crew leader/whatever, but that doesn't stop me from feeling like everyone else is somehow smarter. Help me! I’m losing sleep over this! Agh… I’m probably overanalyzing things. But I did only get scheduled for 8.5 hours this week, while certain other people got their typical 20. Sigh…
Oh well. Enough about this. It’s a high school job, nothing more. I just hate feeling like a big loser. Waah.
Any advice, anyone? Or does anyone have a similar story/embarrassing moment? Current Mood: embarrassed
Careful not to eat that Cake Batter or risk Salmonella. Hah.
Also, today we gave away "free ice cream" to sample, and by free ice cream Coldstone means little tiny cups.
AND Coldstone's version of winning "free ice cream for a year" is two like it ice creams a month for 12 months. What a jip.

Ok so Today at the MH we made 20 cakes a we only had 10 pans (hooray?) Gladly though the back is ENORMOUS! It's like the size of the entire Birmingham store (my former baby) in the back We have SOOO much space it's orgasmic. Anywho where was I? Oh yeah Cakes we have to make Approximately 85 cakes (we have to fill the new display). Tomorrow we're ganaching and again at 10 A.M. AH! So yeah I learned how to make Ice Cream today amongst other things I made Banana, Sweet Cream Yogurt, Cake Batter, Sinless Sweet Cream and something else... I'll remember later. Anywho Jan and I worked for 8 1/2 hours (yay?) so we be raking in the moneys (well at 5.75 not really but you know what I mean.) as well as having a half hour talk about Monty Python WOO! I hate to say it but I like the new aprons they the shiznit. Oh by the way I'm A.J.. OMG! that reminds me Jan and I are super psyched out about these sweet ass like/love/gotta cup holders they're inside the counter by the stone but they have like a spring in them or something and they push the cups up like at a buffet (lame example) where the plates are and the plates sit on the little majig thingy and they go up it's like that but it has a cover I'll try to get a picture of it. Hmmm that's all I guess...
